TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I started as a substitute teacher 18 years ago. I loved getting to spend time with students in grades K-6. My first teaching certificate was in Secondary Government. I loved the content and the independence of high school students. I later received my elementary certificate. After a short time in second grade, I found my home in third grade. I absolutely fell in love with the age group and the content. I had a huge interest in curriculum and started creating curriculum in 2013. I also become a teacher author during that year and have been writing to teach and assist other teachers in their classroom.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a firm believer in the math, reading and writing workshop. I feel that guided groups and centers are the best way to provide differentiation. I go out of my way to make learning fun. I like to get students moving, creating and playing games as they learn.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am a published author and a published artist.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a Bachelors of Science from Northern Arizona University.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have a degree in American Political Studies and I have worked in every branch of the state government. I have been married for 15 years to my high school sweetheart and we have six kids and two dogs.
